Vistelar has been conducting it first Online Practitioner Course. The course followed the new Verbal Defense & Influence Workbook.

Section 9 deals with Bystander Mobilization that Jill Weisensel, a Vistelar consultant, explained in her new book entitled Confidence in Conflict: Campus Life. The workbook uses her quote that “If you witness something going wrong, doing nothing is never a neutral option.”

During the interactive class, participants get a chance to interact with the instructors through forums, chats, and teleconferences. Bill Tanner, one of the attendees, shared that quote with the class. “Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.” — DIETRICH BONHOEFFER.

This quote exemplifies the point made by Jack Hoban, president of Resolution Group International, in this training program that ethical behavior requires moral values in action. If you simply realize that something is wrong but do nothing, you may be moral but you aren’t ethical.

Ethical behavior requires action. You need to do something – knowing it is wrong is not enough. Bill, thanks for sharing this quote with the class.
